Update – 11/15/2014

posted Nov 15, 2014, 12:11 PM by Bill Wittig

Thanks again for all the players and parents that were able to make it out to our meeting on THU night.  Great to meet some of the freshmen and other new players.  A few updates and reminders.

• Registration
     - As of this morning we had ONLY NINE players signed up for Spring 2015
     - ALL PLAYERS and COACHES must sign up with the GBYLA in order to participate
     - After 11/30 the player registration fee will increase by $40; and late registration will close on 12/15
     - Click
here to register TODAY
     - PLEASE do not let your ability to pay determine whether you can sign up for lacrosse. The league has programs that can provide financial assistance if you need it.  Email for more information.

• Meeting Documents
     - All the documents reviewed at the 11/13 Parent-Player Meeting can are now online; click the Downloads button above

• Codes of Conduct (CoC)
     - Included in the documents is the Player Code of Conduct
     - Each player must submit a completed Code of Conduct before he will be allowed to play in any games
     - Along with the Player signature, at least one parent must also sign the Player CoC, though we would prefer both parents sign when possible
     - Item #4 on the Player CoC about academics includes an Opt-In provision related to sharing grade information. The parent and player will BOTH need to initial if you choose to provide this information to Hoover Lacrosse
     - There is also a Parent Code of Conduct in the documents. Parents will need to review, sign and return this CoC as well
     - You can submit completed CoCs electronically; scan and email back to this address; or fax to 205-262-3951. Or your player can bring them to conditioning

• Conditioning
     - Preseason conditioning begins MON 12/1
     - Days: MON, TUE and THU
     - Time: 6:15p to 8:00p
     - Place: Old Berry Middle School (2826 Columbiana Rd, Hoover, AL, 35216)
     - Gear: helmet, gloves, stick, shoes for track (not cleats), plenty of water
     - Conditioning practices are mandatory except for exam week (12/15, which is optional)
     - If a player will be absent or late, he must be cleared in ADVANCE or it will not be excused

• Supplemental Player Information
     - In addition to what is collected during registration there is some other information Hoover Lacrosse needs about each player
     - See the form here
     - Complete this information NOW, even if you have not yet Registered with the GBYLA

Let us know if you have any questions.
